Early Childhood Learning provides high quality early learning experiences at no cost through our Head Start and California State Preschool programs. Children must be three or four years old and meet eligibility requirements such as income eligibility or categorical eligibility. We welcome all children, including students with disabilities.
Students attend either part-day (3-3.5 hours) or full-day (6.5 hours) sessions at sites across the district. Students are given an opportunity to acquire social and academic readiness skills for successful transition into transitional kindergarten and kindergarten. They participate in curriculum activities designed to promote the development of early literacy, numeracy, social and physical skills.
Parents are encouraged to participate in training sessions and to be involved with their children in a variety of educational experiences. Applications are available online or in the Early Childhood Learning office located on the east side of Armada Elementary. We are happy to provide additional information and answer any questions you may have.
