Portrait of a Graduate

The Portrait of a Graduate is the District’s vision for the 21st century skills, character traits, and/or social-emotional competencies that students need to succeed in college, career, and life. The six competencies are:

  • Adaptability: The capacity to be modified for a new use or purpose.
     

  • Collaboration: The act of working with someone to produce or create something.
     

  • Communication: The imparting or exchanging of information.
     

  • Critical Thinking: The objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment.
     

  • Creativity: The use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.
     

  • Perseverance: Persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
