Principal's Message
Welcome to Ridge Crest Elementary School, Home of the RAMS! Serving as Ridge Crest Elementary principal for six-plus years is a great honor. Our school is a Leader in Me school. Our students, staff, and families study the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. When you are on campus, you can feel the leadership growth among all our stakeholders. We pride ourselves on making connections with students and their families.
Throughout the year, exciting things are happening in our classrooms and on our campus! We encourage you to get involved by joining our Parent Groups, volunteering at school activities, and taking an active role in your child's education. The elementary years go quickly, but they are among your child's most important and fundamental years. I desire to keep the focus on increasing student achievement and doing whatever it takes to help ALL our students succeed and enjoy coming to school each day. I believe that learning should be fun and that an elementary school should pave the way for a lifetime of learning.
Parental involvement in our school community is high, and for that parents are applauded. Research demonstrates that such involvement is the number one factor in determining student success in school. Parental involvement can take many forms. First and foremost, parental involvement means getting children to school every day and getting them there on time. This can't be stressed enough. Read to your child every evening. This helps students build their vocabulary and love of reading, as well as impressing the importance of reading. Being present to monitor student homework providing a quiet place for homework completion and being informed about progress and grades are all important to student success.

Misty Kelley
